A feeding center named Mesa del Senor, meaning "the table of the Lord" has been organized in Pucallpa, Peru, and the first meal was served on February 3, 2009.  The meal consisted of rice, stew and fruit.

Thirty children come here for a meal each day. Some of them told the organizers that before the feeding program began they only ate every other day!  

The little girl in the picture is five year old Paola.   This innocent little child is HIV positive.  She and two of her brothers are being fed at "Mesa del Senor".  We were told  that at the first feeding Paola kept calling out to her brothers and grinning with her mouth stuffed full of food.

These children are getting some much needed nutrition, but they are also being fed spiritually.  They are being taught the word of God and are being taught to pray to the Lord who provides the food.
