This is a group shot of children that we minister to in Huaraz, Peru. For more pictures please look under photos.
The feeding center at Huaraz, Peru, is high up in the Andes Mountains. We started this center in the fall of 2002 with fifteen children, but it wasn't long until we were feeding thirty.
Most of these children have homes to go to at night, but living conditions are horrible. We are told that some of the parents are alcoholics and at least one mother is a prostitute. Children as young as two and three years old are out on the street during the day.
It costs us $150.00 per week to feed these thirty children. We spend $55.00 per month to buy gas for the stove to cook their food on and we pay the cook $75.00 each month.
We also pay a teacher $60.00 per month to teach and train the children. She teaches a Bible lesson each day when the children come for their meal. She helps them with their homework and visits their parents to invite them to church. She also involves the children in the church through drama and praise.
It has been worth every penny that we have invested in these kids. Some of them have outgrown the feeding center, but they continue to come to the church and participate in ministry there.
We need financial help with this center. If you could give a donation, it would be appreciated.
